Fair Trade Chocolate
This project focused on designing and constructing a Peru-inspired chocolate bar package using research into the country’s colors, culture, landscapes, and patterns. I developed a visual system that reflected fair trade and organic values while balancing typography, color, and illustration. The final outcome was a cohesive brand and packaging design that was printed, assembled, and presented as a tangible product.
RESEARCH + EXPLORATION
A fair trade chocolate bar inspired by Peru and its cultural connection to cacao. As one of the main origins of the cacao plant, Peru is known for producing chocolate with both rich flavor and nutritional value. This connection inspired a design centered on pure chocolate, with the cacao percentage highlighted as a main feature.
The side patterns were inspired by traditional Peruvian dresses and celebrations, while the paper choice was selected to create a more organic look and feel. The final package combines cultural research, fair trade values, typography, pattern, and hands-on construction into a finished physical product.
