Earth-Hop
The Environmental Action Response Team Hip Hop Project (EARTH HOP) is a brand identity project for an interdisciplinary program that combines climate education, community mentorship, and hip hop. The initiative connects San Diego State students with middle schoolers, guiding them through environmental topics and helping them transform their ideas into original songs through lyrics, rhythm, and music production.

RESEARCH + EXPLORATION
EARTH HOP’s visual identity was designed to connect environmental awareness with hip-hop culture through bold typography, symbolic imagery, and an Earth inspired color palette. Inspired by stamp-like hip-hop logos, the stretched lettering creates a playful but strong mark, while the half-circle icon represents both the earth and a CD. Supporting patterns based on typographic maps and sound waves extend the brand across applications, with teal blending environmental green and hip-hop inspired blue in a way that feels energetic, approachable, and school-friendly.
